When you join MOTAT as a team member you open up a whole new world of learning and understanding and you will  pick up some unique skills.

Formalise your learning experiences with an EduBits micro-credential qualification that recognises your new expertise and lets you show the world what you know.

If you’re interested in obtaining a MOTAT EduBits qualification you will first need to register with MOTAT as a volunteer. You can do this by completing the application form here.  To find out more about what’s involved with becoming a volunteer at MOTAT head over to our website MOTAT.NZ.

When you are ready to apply to do your EduBit, click on 'Let's Do It' below to get started.

You’ll be asked to register for a free EduBits account, or if you have already registered you will be asked to log in with your chosen email address and password.

Welcome to a new world of learning!

How it works

MOTAT is supported by over 200 dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers have diverse skills and work in many areas of the museum.

Collection Operations Volunteer roles include, tramway, railway, steam and military operation, as well as print shop and bookbinding. Our collection operations teams are particularly busy during the weekend, 'Live Day's (third Sunday of the month), and our special festive events such as Christmas Lights. Due to the operational nature of these roles, priority is given to applicants who demonstrate a long term commitment to volunteering and a high level of enthusiasm during training.
